Love Camping. Hate the Rug.

Mud, wind, storage, and the nightly who-rolls-it-up debate. BaseRoll™ Adventure is designed to take the hassle out of all of it.

Soggy, Sloppy, Gone With the Wind.

Wet rugs turn into mud mats. Cheap lightweight ones flip, flap, and take off across the campsite with a strong gust.

So… Where Does the Dirty Rug Go?

Drag it out, drag it back, then find somewhere inside your rig to stuff a wet, gritty rug. Every. Single. Trip.

The Campsite Standoff.

“You laid it out.” “You said you’d roll it up.” “Did I, though?”

Who’s rolling up the rug tonight? BaseRoll™ is. We've got you covered.

The BaseRoll™ Solution

The awning went powered. Now the patio mat has too.

BaseRoll™ Adventure is a motorized patio mat system that mounts under your RV or camper. It runs on a 12V reversible motor from your rig’s own power, just like a power awning. Walk the mat out by the handle, and press reel-in on the remote when it’s time to go.

Jerred sewing the BaseRoll patio mat panels in his workshop

    From the workbench
    to the campsite.

I’m Jerred Lane, founder of BASE ROLL LLC and inventor of the BaseRoll™ Adventure. I’ve spent my career in aerospace on highly technical, multi-billion-dollar systems. After too many trips rolling up a wet, sandy rug, I engineered a better way. Join me on this journey.

Our Mission: Built for the road. Built with heart. BaseRoll™ Adventure is designed and engineered in Denver, Colorado. As we move from prototype to production, our goal is to build it in the USA, working with American suppliers wherever we can.

We also believe every adventure is better with a four-legged co-pilot. Our furry companions give us their whole hearts in the short time they’re here, so giving back to dog rescue is part of our mission as BaseRoll™ grows. We’ll share our rescue partner and how we’re giving back as those plans take shape.

Everything at camp went motorized. Except the patio mat.

RV awnings went from hand cranks to powered arms, and some now retract on their own when the wind picks up. Leveling went powered. Slide-outs, stabilizer jacks and whole-rig controls moved to switches and phone apps. Even the backyard grill went app-controlled. The patio mat is still unrolled by hand and dragged back in wet and sandy. BaseRoll™ Adventure is designed to change that.

    • Around 1990Powered awnings and power slide-outs arrive (Carefree, Newmar).
    • 2009One-touch automatic leveling for fifth wheels (Lippert Level Up).
    • 2016Wind-sensing auto-retract awnings and phone-app RV control (Lippert Solera Smart Arm, OneControl).
    • 2017The grill goes app-controlled (Traeger WiFIRE).
    • 2020 modelsPower stabilizer jacks become standard across Keystone, Dutchmen and Crossroads.
    • TodayThe patio mat is still done by hand. BaseRoll™ Adventure is designed to motorize it. Patent pending.

A Big Market That Already Went Powered

The awning went powered. The patio floor is next.

    8.1 million

    U.S. households own an RV.1

    89.5%

of new RVs shipped in 2025 were towables.2

    ~25% → ~40%

Lippert’s own estimate of its new awning line’s share of towable-RV awnings, end of 2013 → end of 2014 (company estimate, SEC 10-K).3

    9 in 10

RV owners say their RV needs at least one upgrade.4

    Why OEMs care

    • Lippert says its content in RVs has grown over 67% since 2020.5
    • Camping World’s 2025 gross margin was about 47% on parts, service and other, vs 13.2% on new vehicles.6
    • Powered features are moving to standard. 2026 models like the Jayco Jay Feather, KZ Connect and KZ Durango list a power awning as standard.7
    • The global RV awning market is worth more than $1 billion a year: 2025 industry estimates range from $1.04B to $1.8B, with one forecast reaching $2.31B by 2035.8 Power awnings went from an add-on to standard equipment, and BaseRoll is built to follow the same path, at ground level.

A few things you might ask.

    Can I buy BaseRoll™ yet?

BaseRoll is in prototyping. Follow the Build for updates and availability news.

    Is BaseRoll™ patented?

BaseRoll™ Adventure is patent pending, with a US application filed in March 2026 and an international (PCT) application filed in July 2026.

    Will it fit my RV?

BaseRoll is designed for campers, RVs and trailers. The mounting bracket varies by vehicle. Email your rig’s make and model to info@baserolladventure.com to discuss fitment.

    How does it deploy?

Press a button to activate the system. The patio mat will lower, grab the handle and walk it out. A motor deploys it as you go.

How does the mat roll back in?

Fold the side panels, align the handle using the green laser, and press reel-in on the remote. The green laser line is designed with an eye-safe laser that shows the user the center location. The motor is designed to retract the mat while two brushes sweep its top and bottom.

    Can I change the mat?

The patio mat is designed to attach by zipper, so you can swap in a new color, your favorite design, or your team’s colors with ease.

    Does it need an app?

No. It’s designed to run from its own handheld remote. Nothing to download.

What if the power goes out?

BaseRoll is designed with a manual hand-crank override, so the mat can be stowed if power is lost.
